Who was Chase….

Definitely under construction.

This page is the hardest. This one is going to take a minute. This is our baby. That was taken away from us. We didn’t lose him. He was taken. #foreverfourteen

Welcome to the page dedicated to the heart and soul of our foundation, Chase Dean- a beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend whose light touched everyone who knew him.

Hi, I am Katy, Chases mom. I had Chase when I was 23 years old in November of 2010. When Chase was born, I knew then that God gave me a little fellow who would soon become my best friend. When Chase was little, I would sit him in the bathroom sink after a bath and blow-dry his hair into a mohawk and he loved it, he was a little boy version of me. Always laughing, always being the center of attention, he would make fun of you and defend you in the same breath. He was 6ft 4in, blonde hair and blue eyes, size 15 shoe, and he was only 14 and a half. He was passionate about Jesus and always asked so many questions of the Bible in his ending year. He was my best friend. Chase was tragically taken one late night in May of 2025. Chase snuck out and went to who he thought was a friend’s house. Two hours later at 1am I am receiving phone calls to come now. Police had already made it to the scene. My son lied 20 yards ahead of me dying and I had no idea; I kept asking where Chase was and no one knew until I described him. Finally, the detectives approached me and told me he had not made it. He suffered a GS wound to the head and six more on the side of his body when he fell over. My whole world in that moment… shattered. Everything I knew and loved and poured my heart and soul, sweat, blood, and tears into for the last 14 year's, prior to that day was gone. I sat on the side of the road for six hours watching my son become evidence. As a mother, it is the most helpless feeling you can ever experience. When the scene cleared and they took him away I remember going home and just kind of walking in circles in the yard. I was lost. About two hours goes by and I get a call from the detective saying they arrested all three suspects. I said THREE!? Yes ma'am, a juvenile, and two adults, two guns involved. I asked if I could please have his jewelry and his wallet, they said no, he was also being robbed, and it is now evidence. He was only 14 and a half, but Chase lived a lifetime of passion, love, and laughter in those short years. The Chase Dean Foundation is our promise to him- and to every mother/ victim who knows this pain- that his memory will forever be a force for good.
